Ranita, felt quirky bird sculpture
I spend a while naming my birds, sometimes the names comes from the audio book I am listening to as I make them, sometimes they remind me of someone I know and sometimes they tell me...this lovely little bird is named after a woman I met in Norway who sadly passed away recently, she is a celebration of Ranita's soul.
She stands 19cm tall.
Ranita is a very friendly and calm bird, her plumage is a beautiful dyed red Cambrian mountain wool fibre with some pale yellow stripes and pink tail feathers.
My quirky birds are wrapped, stabbed with a needle, massages with warm soapy water, rinsed and then spun violently in the washing machine!! They are robust creatures.
All my quirky bird sculptures are hand made using British wool fibres and felt making techniques.
They are designed to keep you company, on a shelf, book case, window sill, anywhere their presence will make you smile.
Not toys, more friends and must be kept away from small children and pets.
