Screen print and stitch picture

When I screen print I use paper cut stencils. This is part of a larger piece of cotton calico that I printed...I worked hard to get this dark mustard/slurry colour, which I love.
The shapes became creatures and the turquoise detail just adds that great contrast.
I love to haul fabric through my sewing machine....this is free motion machine embroidery at it's most 'free'!

I have stretched the piece around a frame so it can be hung straight onto a wall.
this measures 29cm w x 57cm h.
