I have been musing on this body of work for a year or so now, taking endless photos of magpies…trying to face thinking hard about the loss of my mother, death, life and what it is I really want to say.

I am fast approaching the 2nd deadline now and it seems to have focussed my mind somewhat………so far I have 1 for sorrow and 3 for a girl….I know what I am doing for 2 for joy and am closer to knowing 4 for a boy.

Another reason I have struggled with this project is the fact that I saw it as separate to my felt making and so a revelation a few weeks that actually they don’t need to be separate has enabled me to get going.
